The material evidence and scientific interpretation of the Nasca and Palpa petroglyphs that this book presents open a new chapter in the archaeology of southern Peru. The research by Giuseppe Orefici unveils the archaic origins of these ancient petroglyphs’ iconographic heritage, meanwhile paving the way to the interpretation of other iconographic manifestations from the millenary aesthetic tradition of the Nasca culture, such as their geoglyphs, pottery and textiles.
