Nasca. The desert of the Cahuachi divinities
Giuseppe Orefici
The Nasca society has consolidated its cultural expression in Cahuachi, a 24 km2 adobe ceremonial center associated with the geoglyphs of the Nasca Pampa.
The work, which brings together the entire group of researchers from the Nasca Project, shows the success story of a multidisciplinary investigation into the excavation, analysis, and appreciation of Cahuachi and its cultural expressions. Ceramics, textiles, architecture, music, food, astronomy, the water system, and land management come together to reconstruct the complexity of the Nasca universe.
The project, which has been running uninterrupted for 30 years, has successfully compiled a dataset that allows us to address a unique challenge in archaeological research at different dimensional scales and from various perspectives.
