Kamaq Maki – Manos Creadoras
Luis Repetto
The artistic expressions of ancient Peruvians found in pottery, textiles, metal objects and other remains of ancient Peru testify to an artistic creativity that has been kept alive from its origins until the present day. The Andean craftsmanship later evolved by adapting its prehispanic motives and techniques to the new concepts brought in by the Europeans. The resulting handicrafts, still produced in the modern day, are a vivid expression of a prehispanic memory that includes the sacred dimension, the dialogue with nature, the desire to transcend, and art as a mirror of the invisible.
