Krzysztof Makowski (1952) has directed interdisciplinary archaeological research projects in Syria and Peru, in Alto Piura, as well as in the valleys of Lurín and Culebras. He was scientific director of the “Camisea-Selva, Sierra y Costa” project and advisor of the “Cajamarquila” project. He currently directs the excavations in Pachacamac and the conservation works of Pueblo Viejo-Pucará. He is a member and advisor of the “Castillo de Huarmey” project. He has successively assumed the coordination of the specialty, the postgraduate program in archaeology and the field school of the PUCP. He was co-founder of the Andean Studies Program of the Graduate School of the PUCP and of the first conservation and restoration institute in Peru (IST Yachaywasi, 1993). He was its academic director until 2003.
