Strategic Plan for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation in Peru is a national reference book that presents Peru’s vision and coordinated response to climate change. Developed by the Ministry of Environment (MINAM), it brings together the country’s most relevant programs, projects, and initiatives for short- and medium-term action, integrating climate priorities into regional development and national planning.
Far from being a technical manual, the book offers a broad and accessible overview of Peru’s environmental commitments, emphasizing inclusive, cross-sectoral participation. It introduces seven key thematic lines—from emissions reduction and forest conservation to resilience building and public awareness—and highlights the role of indigenous knowledge, public policy, and science in shaping solutions. With more than 3 billion soles in planned investments, the book reflects a shared national effort to face climate risks and transition toward a sustainable future. It is both a strategic guide and a call to action for all actors involved in Peru’s environmental transformation.
