Biography
Juan Ossio Acuña is a Peruvian anthropologist and historian. He earned his Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Oxford. He has been a visiting professor at universities such as Chicago, Virginia, Harvard, L’Ecole de Haute Etudes in Paris, and Aula Bartolomé de las Casas in Madrid. He has served as a full professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and was the country’s first Minister of Culture from 2010 to 2011. His publications include “Ideología Mesiánica del Mundo Andino,” “Parentesco, Reciprocidad y Jerarquía en los Andes,” and “Etnografía de la cultura andina“
