Born in Cusco, Peru, in 1967, he is an agricultural engineer from the National University of San Antonio Abad of Cusco. He holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering with a specialization in Management and Environmental Assessment, completed postgraduate studies at the José Carlos Mariátegui University, and obtained a diploma in Strategic Management from the National University of San Marcos. He is an expert in geographic planning, integrated management of protected areas, and conservation strategies. He has served as head of the Megantoni National Sanctuary, the Amarakaeri Communal Reserve, and the Tambopata National Reserve. He is currently the head of the National Protected Areas Service for Manu National Park.
