Biography
Joanne Pillsbury is a former director of Pre-Columbian Studies at the Dumbarton Oaks Institute (Washington, D.C.), and is currently curator of ancient art of the Americas at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York). She is author of: “Moche Art and Archaeology in Ancient Peru” (Washington, 2001), “Palaces of the Ancient New World” (with S. T. Evans, 2004), “Past Presented: Archaeological Illustration and the Ancient Americas” (2012) and “Guide to Documentary Sources for Andean Studies, 1530-1900” (2008).
