Biography
Blanca León is a botanist who has a deep interest in the diversity and conservation of the Peruvian flora. She graduated in Biology from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos and earned her doctorate at the Sciences Faculty of the University of Aarhus, Denmark. She has ample fieldwork experience in the Andes. Since 1987 she is in charge of the botanical research on neotropical ferns for a team that studies the plant ecology of the Río Abiseo National Park. She has published more than one hundred scientific works.
