Luis Alfredo Narváez Vargas is a Peruvian architect. He is a graduate from the Universidad Nacional de Trujillo and holds a Master degree in Science from the Durrell Institute for Conservation and Ecology of the University of Kent’s Anthropology Faculty (England). After being in charge of the Túcume archaeological project, he founded the Túcume Field Museum and the Túcume Eco-museum. He has been director of the National Institute of Culture’s office in Lambayeque, and professor at the Universidad Pedro Ruiz Gallo’s School of Archaeology. He has conducted archaeological research projects at Kuélap, Upper Utcubamba and Upper Huallaga, and published several articles and books on the archaeology, ethnography and mythology of northern of Peru. In 2011 he became a member of the National Academy of Peruvian History, and in 2018 he was named Meritorious Figure of Culture by the Ministry of Culture of Peru. He is currently Director of the Decentralized Cultural Office of the Lambayeque region.
